Lead Tutors

Debra Borsley
Debra is a speech and language therapist based in Airedale NHS Trust, Northern England. She has worked in the field of Dementia for more than twenty years.

Sarah Cairns
Based in Cork, Sarah has been working for many years in the field of Older Person Care. A qualified Shiatsu therapist, Sarah also holds a certificate in Older people in Dance. She currently works as Activities Director in Bantry Hospital.

Recruitment of Tutors

The criteria for application to attend a Sonas or Anam Tutor Training Course are:

  • completed a Sonas/Anam Workshop
  • an experienced Sonas/Anam practitioner
  • a healthcare or other suitable qualification
  • experience of delivering training or making presentations
  • experience of, and interest in, working with older people with dementia
  • a capacity for personal responsibility and initiative

Appointment to the Tutor Panel is made subsequent to one or more supervised workshops.

If you are interested in applying to become a tutor, please download and complete this application form and email or post to the Sonas aPc office, together with your CV.

Your details will be put on file and, once a date has been set for the next course, you will be contacted by a member of the Sonas aPc team.

The next Sonas Tutor Training Course will be held in early 2012.
