Course Overview
Anyone who has attended Parts 1 and 2 of the Sonas/Anam Workshop is eligible to take the FETAC Level 5 Sonas aPc module. The module is entitled “Activating Communication (Sonas aPc)”. The module code is L21943.
In taking this module, candidates are required to:
- Attend three training days. This includes the two-day Sonas/Anam workshop.
- Carry out at least eight group sessions (four of which are witnessed by a work-based supervisor).
- Be observed by a Sonas aPc Assessor carrying out one or more group sessions.
- Submit a completed Learner Record and short Assignment
Implementation of the Sonas/Anam programme is an integral part of the module. Workshop Days 1 & 2 must be completed at least one month prior to the scheduled FETAC Workshop Day 3 if a person wishes to take the module for that assessment period.
Given the timeframe of the workshop days and the requirement of carrying out eight group sessions, it takes upwards of four months to complete this module.
The three forms of assessment for this module are: Skills Demonstration (50%), Learner Record (30%) and Assignment (20%).
Sonas aPc runs FETAC assessments bi-annually, in June and November.
The cost of the FETAC Sonas aPc module is €180. This includes the Workshop Day 3 and assessment.
All those who have completed the Sonas/Anam workshop since Jan 2002 are eligible to take the module immediately.
Those who completed the Sonas/Anam workshop prior to this time may take the module after a one day Sonas/Anam Refresher Workshop.
